I'm so sorry!

I did not shoot to my ability, no excuses. I did try my hardest but it just didn't happen for me. All credit to my opponent, he was methodical whereas my first arrow was a 3 and i was constantly playing catch-up, at this level you cannot get away with arrows like that.

I apologise for letting everyone down, i've had fantastic support throughout this whole event and i only wish i could have progressed further and made you proud...i'm so sorry!!

You tried You best but it wasn't quite enough, nothing to feel sorry about. You actually got to the Paralympics which was Your original target (Beijing or bust), You got through to the last 16, I'd say that was one hell of an accomplishment. We're all extremely proud of You here in Gloucester. Enjoy the rest of You stay in Beijing.

Hi mick

dont know quite what to say that does nt sound patronizing or just plain stupid, you worked really hard to get there, it may not have gone quite how you wanted, but what an experience.

Hey Mick, you shouldn't apologise. You have done fantastic - getting to Beijing is an achievement on its own. I'm sure you'll show 'em at the 2012 games! See you soon. Nicky X

Hi Mick

Quick intro: My name is Aaron and I have been friends with Marty for many years through online racing. I was a keen field archer until some years ago when my disability made it impossible to pilot a wheelchair through woodlnd undergrowth! lol

Thanks to Marty, I have been keenly following your Olympic bid. The last 16 eh? Wow. Being one of the best archers in the world after only four years is no mean feat and you felt you could have done even better! We all have off days and the other day was yours. For your first olympics you have achieved one amazing accomplishment and you should feel very proud of yourself. Thankyou for being such an inspiration to those of us who sometimes feel we can't keep up. We can and you proved it!

Now just relax and enjoy the rest of the experience.

Aaron

You did make us proud, but I think I have an inkling as to how you must have felt...

Everyone who knows you knows how capable you are, and how extremely tough it is to compete in the pressure cooker you were in, all I can say is WELL DONE! Thats the first Paralympics out of the way!

In many ways it's as much about the journey as the destination and I really really hope that you and I can enjoy the journey to 2012 together...

Mick, my brother...

It's not the medal that makes the man, or athlete; it's the soul and drive he posesses inside. You were already a champion when you got there. Lou adoringly saw you win in an "Olympic Venue". And we both found comradery in our defeat; that doesn't happen very often, and is rarely shared...You are a Champion my friend.

I'm really 'diggin' you web-site btw...and thanks for the props and pics on page. I miss ya already. Give a call when ya can. I'm looking forward to a pleasure-shoot in Arizona next year. Will see ya then.
